DEACONS

Beginning today (yes, actually today, God willing! Our apologies for the mis-publication last week), we are starting the process of seeking to add new deacons. Including today, we will have two sermons on the work and qualifications of deacons. This Wednesday (September 24th), we will have two weeks of interactive classes on Wednesday to further discuss deacons. Beginning October 5th, we will have two weeks to submit names of men from among us who fit the qualifications of deacons laid out in Scripture, and can serve within our areas of need. Please make every effort to participate in these teaching opportunities, and please be praying about the process.

CONGRATULATIONS!

We wish to congratulate John & Elaine Sambuco at the marriage of their son Ryan to Allison Fox on September 13 in Sandusky, Ohio.

UPCOMING WEDNESDAY CLASSES

For the next two weeks on Wednesday night, we will be discussing the work of deacons as we seek to appoint new men to work with us. Please be here to be a part of these conversations and studies.

COLLEGE ADDRESSES

The updated list of college students addresses is now available on the table in the foyer by the main door. Let’s remember to encourage our college students whenever we can.

OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE

With the initiative of Dot Saunders, we are beginning to collect stuffed animals to donate to Children’s Services. This will be used to give a little comfort to children who experience trauma and hardship.

YOUTH EVENTS COMING UP

The North Hills Youth Rally in Pittsburgh is this coming weekend. Pray for the students! Mark your calendars for Nov. 14th-16th for the Fall Retreat. It’ll be here before you know it! As always, we will need chaperones, drivers, and others to help with behind the scenes preparations.

BULLETIN BOARD

There are several flyers advertising events from other area congregations on the bulletin board by the water fountain in the lobby. Be sure to take a look to see what’s posted.

BIBLE CLASSES

On Sunday mornings at 9am and Wednesday nights at 7pm we have Bible classes for adults and children of all ages. These classes are a great opportunity for you and your family to grow in the knowledge and understanding of God’s word. We hope you’ll join us!
