January’s Scripture!

Nothing like starting the new year off late…my apologies!  Remember as we start the new year it is a time of focus which we all hope to carry throughout 2015. The pressing question is what will you choose to focus your attention on?  Let me encourage you to focus on God’s word – not in a ritualistic way, so bogged down in memorizing regiment that you lose focus on intent and transforming process.  The practice of focusing on our monthly passages is more about learning the heart of God and hiding our learning’s in OUR hearts, rather than memorizing passages word for word.  The danger in the latter is that we’ll miss the beauty of this transforming process.  God bless your meditating and memorizing process in the coming year!

For January:

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. (Romans 12:1-2 ESV)

This passage reminds us that transforming behavior is a mind management matter.  We only truly succeed in acting as God’s person in this world when we open our minds to Him!

“God, fill our hearts and minds so fully there is no longer any room for Satan and his sinfulness there. In Jesus’ name.”
