PRAYER REQUESTS

    Jeff Bigler is scheduled for back surgery to fuse his spine on Jan. 7. Mary Bass was scheduled to consult with an oncologist last Thursday regarding the lesions on her bones.   Jerry Yost, the preacher for the Duffy congregation, continues to undergo physical therapy in Belmont Community Hospital.

SERVING IN THE MILITARY

Please continue praying for those of our church family and extended church family who are serving in the armed forces…Jason Harris (Bill & Pat Rice’s son-in-law), Bill Randolph (Matt’s father),  Nathan Rodak (Jay & Rhonda’s son) and Joey Stenger (Joe & Karen’s son).

SYMPATHY

We express our genuine sympathy to the family of Bill White who passed away on Dec. 8.  His funeral was last Tuesday here in St. C.

We also extend our sympathy to Brenda Sponhaltz in last Tuesday’s death of her aunt, Jeanette Maynard.   Her funeral was this past Friday in Moundsville.

CONGREGATIONAL MEETING

There will be a Congregational Meeting following an abbreviated worship service this evening.  Our shepherds will present next year’s budget and challenges as well as provide other updates and receive input regarding our ongoing work as a church family.

SHEPHERDS-DEACONS-PREACHERS MEETING

The Shepherds, Deacons and preachers will meet for their bi-monthly meeting this afternoon at 4:30 in the MP Room.

MINISTRY OF ENCOURAGEMENT

Teams 1,2&5 will lead our ministry of encouraging others for the next two weeks.

NEWLYWEDS

We congratulate Jena Ehni & Ben Frye on being united in marriage in Hawaii yesterday.    They will  be in Care Group B.

GRADUATES

We congratulate Kyle Sowinski on his graduation from the University of Akron yesterday with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

We also congratulate Brad Schrum on his receiving his MRE Degree in Missional Church Leadership from Rochester College during a ceremony yesterday in Rochester Hills, MI.

VACATION

Brad Schrum will be on vacation this coming week.  He is planning to be back with us next Sunday.

WINTERFEST

The annual Youth Rally in Gatlinburg, TN, will be Feb. 15-17, 2013.  The deadline for notifying Brad Schrum of your desire to go is next Sunday, Dec. 23.  See Brad for details.

YOUNG ADULTS’ CLASS

The Young Adults Class meets Sundays and Wednesdays in the MP Room during our regular Bible Class times.

QUILTING MINISTRY

The ladies who are involved in the Quilting Ministry for Missions will not meet again until January 3.

IN SEARCH OF THE LORD’S WAY

Jesus was the Word, and the Word was God, and the Word became flesh.  When the Lord Jesus came into the world fashioned as man, He brought the greatest blessing this world has ever known.  Phil Sanders will discuss the entry of the Son of God into the world in next week’s lesson, “The Word Became Flesh.”  The program can be viewed every Sunday at 7:30 a.m. on WTRF-TV, Ch. 7.
