  PRAYER CONCERNS

    Anna Witchey is gradually regaining some of her strength at home after being hospitalized last week. Charles Boger is continuing to improve in Acuity Specialty Hospital.  Joyce Slatt is scheduled  for outpatient gall bladder surgery tomorrow in Wheeling Hospital.   Stacie Bearup will consult with a cardiologist in the near future after being diagnosed with carotid artery disease.  Brian Games is continuing to make great strides in his recovery.    Jocelyn Davis is to have tubes inserted in her ears on April 5.  Jan Ehni is now home after being hospitalized early last week for dehydration due to the intestinal flu.  Terrie Gaston is recovering from pneumonia.

Wanda Glasgow, Willie’s mother, is in ICU in EORH with a blood clot in her lung.  Zach Roberts, Harry & Edie’s 5-month old great nephew, is recovering from last Monday’s successful open heart surgery in Morgantown.  Libby Gregory, Stacie Bearup’s mother, has been diagnosed with sclerosis of the liver due to diabetes.  Mary Lee Applegarth, the mother of Robin Shanks (one of Rose Voscavitch’s friends), was admitted to Cumberland Pointe last week to be treated for a stroke.

It was great to have Clyde Carpenter back with us last Wednesday as he continues his recovery from heart surgery.

Our expectant mothers need our prayers…Terra Blacker (a boy in April), Carrie Lucas (a girl in April), Amy Higgins (a boy in May) and Lindsay McKeen (a girl in July).

CONGRATULATIONS

We congratulate Rick & Ashley McKeen on last Tuesday’s birth of their daughter, Kaylee Louise, who entered the world weighing 6 lbs. 14 oz. and measuring 20 inches long.  All are home and doing fine.

SYMPATHY

We express our deepest sympathy to Sam Miller in last Wednesday’s sudden death of Sarah.  She was a sweet and gentle person who will be deeply missed by her church family.

Our genuine sympathy is also extended to Mike Gaston in last week’s death of his uncle, Sam Gaston, who lived in Fairmont, WV.

 NEXT SUNDAY’S BIBLE CLASSES

All those in Grades 7-Adult will meet for a combined 9:00 a.m. class in the auditorium led by our guest speaker, Richard McGough.  All the other classes will meet in their individual classrooms.

INVITE YOUR FRIENDS

We want to encourage everyone to invite and bring your family members and friends with you for the series with Richard beginning next Sunday and continuing through the following Wednesday.  Postcards are available on the table in the foyer to help you spread the news.

MEALS WITH RICHARD

Everyone will have the opportunity to eat a meal with Richard and other members of your Care Group.  Of course, everyone (including guests) are welcome at all the meals.  Care Group A’s meal will be Tuesday at 5:30 in the MP Room; B’s will be on Monday at 5:30 in the MP Room and C’s will be Wednesday at 5:30 at Mehlman’s.

BRIDAL SHOWER

A Bridal Shower will be given in honor of Brad & Kristin Noling during the Monthly Fellowship on April 1.  If you would like to contribute toward a “Money-Tree,” give your donations to Lisa Johnson.

LADIES’ RETREAT

Ladies, the annual Retreat at Grand Vue Park near Moundsville is scheduled for April 20 & 21.  Jr. & Sr. High girls are also included.  If you would like to attend, please sign the list on the bulletin board by April 8.

WALK-A-THON

A “Walk-A-Thon” to help funds for the Games Family will be held on Saturday, May 12, in Moundsville.  Informational packets are available on the table in the foyer.

ITEMS FOR POTTER CHILDREN’S HOME

The Potter Children’s Home in Bowling Green, KY, is in need of our help again this year. They have asked us to donate French Dressing, Bottled Water and Soft-Scrub.  Of course, they always need cash donations to help with the purchase of perishable foods. The deadline for bringing the items is May 12.

BOY’S CLOTHING NEEDED

We are in need of boy’s clothing, shirt size 8-10 and pants, size 10.  For further information, contact Carol Kovachic.

PETITION RE: ABORTION

There is still time to sign the petition to place the question of abortion on the ballot in Ohio.  The forms are available on the table in the foyer.  Be sure to follow the specific directions to make sure your signature will be properly validated.  You must be a resident of Ohio to sign the petition.

IN SEARCH OF THE LORD’S WAY

The Lord’s Day is the first day of the week, the day early Christians remembered the body and blood of the Lord Jesus by eating the Lord’s Supper. Phil Sanders, the program’s keynote speaker, will discuss this day in next week’s lesson, “The Lord’s Day.”  The program can be seen every Sunday at 7:30 a.m. on WTRF-TV, ch. 7.
