  PRAYER CONCERNS

Harry Schrum is in ICU in Wheeling Hospital recovering from last Monday’s heart attack. Bill Kopyar is recovering from surgery to repair a  severe cut to his hand.  Dan McMillan is doing better following last weekend’s hospitalization for chest pains. Edie Roberts is recuperating at home from hernia surgery.  Peg Spielvogel is scheduled to have a device surgically installed in her back tomorrow in Morgantown for pain relief.

Brian Games continues to undergo therapy in Morgantown four days each week. Clyde Carpenter is gradually improving.  Mae Deller has been ill and could use some encouragement.  Let’s shower her with cards.

We mistakenly omitted Joe, Tamara Davis’ husband, in last week’s bulletin.  Tamara is Clyde Carpenter’s niece who along with Joe is undergoing treatment for post traumatic stress related to the accidental death of their 2 1/2 year old daughter in February.

Paul Moore, Brenda Sponhaltz’s brother-in-law, has been hospitalized in Wheeling Hospital for the past several days with complications from a kidney transplant he had a few years ago.  Dave Koonce, Kay Sowinski’s uncle, is in EORH with a severe infection in his hand.  Bonnie Holmes, the mother of one of Jason Baker’s co-workers, is recovering from a stroke in Wheeling Hospital.

Please continue your prayers for Louis Bain (Kate’s husband), Evelyn Barker, Holly Bine (Pat Rice’s brother), Charles Boger, John Cottage (Frank Sponhaltz’s nephew), Marilyn Findley (Carolyn Campbell’s sister), Nancy Hastings  (Christian neighbor of Skip Gooch’s sister in Albuquerque, NM), Kevin Kalany, Deborah Lodge (Amber Hope’s stepmother), Vera Perry, Tyler Pinkston (Sheri’s son), Grace Randolph (Matt’s grandmother), Adam Shanks  (friend of the Voscavitches) and Rita Yontz, Jim’s mother.

OUR EXPECTANT MOTHERS

Let’s continue our prayers for those who are expecting additions to their families in the near future…Amy Higgins (a boy in May) and Lindsay McKeen (a girl in July).

 BABY SHOWER & MONTHLY FELLOWSHIP

Following next Sunday evening’s worship service, we will honor Lindsay McKeen with a Baby Shower in conjunction with our May Monthly Fellowship. She is registered at Toys R Us, Babies R Us and Target. Care Group B will be in charge of the Shower and Care Group A will be in charge of the Fellowship.

TODAY’S CONTRIBUTION

Since today is a “fifth-Sunday,” all the contribution will go toward the retirement of the debt on the Reservoir Road property.

GRADUATES

If you are graduating from High School this spring, we would like to have one of your Announcements and Senior pictures in preparation for honoring you on May 27.  So far, we are aware of the following graduating High School Seniors:  Union Local:  Ashley Farber, Ashley Gaston, Dustin McMillan and Tyler Pinkston. St.C.:  Alex Cannon, Melanie Hannan and Emily Vickers. If you are aware of any others of our church family who are graduating from high school this spring, please let Joyce know.

If you are graduating from college or a technical school, please let Joyce know as well.

MEN’S BREAKFAST

All the men and boys are invited to the Monthly Breakfast this coming Saturday at 8:30 a.m. at Eat ‘N Park.

MISSIONAL ENGAGEMENT

If you are interested in becoming involved again in the Missional Engagement Ministry which was begun last year, please contact Brad Schrum.

EDUCATIONAL MINISTRY

The Summer Quarter for our Bible Classes will begin on June 3.  If you are  willing to help with this important ministry, please sign the list on the hallway bulletin board across from Brad’s office. You can also contact Angel Baker or Sally McDiffitt for more information.  We appreciate all of our Bible Class volunteers.

BIBLE LAND SLIDES

During our evening worship next Sunday, Bill Rodak will be showing some slides of Israel which they took on their recent trip to some of the lands of the Bible.

ELMER PARSONS RETREAT

Those in Grades 7-College Age are invited to the annual Elmer Parsons Retreat at Tomlinson Run State Park May 18-20.  (Contact Brad for more details.)

ITEMS FOR POTTER CHILDREN’S HOME

The deadline for bringing the following items for Potter Children’s Home is Sunday, May 13: French Dressing, Bottled Water and Soft-Scrub.  They also need cash donations to help with the purchase of perishable foods. Please place the items on the table in the hallway across from Everett’s office and give any money to Everett.

LADIES’ INSPIRATION DAY

The Annual Ladies’ Inspiration Day sponsored by the Wheeling congregation is Saturday, May 12.  Brenda McCleary who worships with us on Wednesday evenings will be the keynote speaker.

  IN SEARCH OF THE LORD’S WAY
