    PRAYER CONCERNS

Due to a reaction to her pain medication. Vera Perry was admitted to Wheeling Hospital last Tuesday after returning home following Monday’s successful shoulder replacement and rotator cuff surgeries in Columbus. Dorothy Kimble has improved slightly, but remains in critical condition in EORH.  Jim Thrash spent a couple of days in the hospital early last week being treated for seizures. Jocelyn Davis was to have tubes inserted in her ears last Thursday in Pittsburgh.   Brian Games’ recovery continues to progress.  Charles Boger was transferred to Cumberland Pointe last Tuesday to continue physical therapy and kidney dialysis.   Anna Witchey remains about the same at home.

Ruth Satterfield, Terrie Gaston & Sally McDiffitt’s mother, was hospitalized in OVMC last week with gall stones in a duct.  Marilyn Findley, Carolyn Campbell’s sister, was hospitalized in Maryland last week with pneumonia and liver problems. John Cottage, Frank Sponhaltz’s nephew, was injured in an industrial accident a few days ago and is in serious condition in UPMC in Pittsburgh.  Grace Randolph, Matt’s mother, is in Wheeling Hospital with leukemia.  Holly Bine, Pat Rice’s brother, continues his battle with cancer.  Glenna Gates, Judy Hutson’s sister-in-law, has returned home from the hospital.

Those for whom our prayers have been requested recently need our continued support…Louis Bain (Kate’s husband), Evelyn Barker, Clyde Carpenter, Patty Elsey, (Terrie Gaston & Sally McDiffitt’s aunt), Wanda Glasgow (Willie’s mother), Harold Hudson, Alexander James (the Hartung’s 18-month old grandson), Kevin Kalany, Deborah Lodge (Amber Hope’s stepmother), Shadow Momtag (student at Union Local), Peg Spielvogel and Joy Yontz.

Those who are no longer able to worship with us regularly need our continued prayers…Bill & Sue Daley, Mae Deller, Wilda Freeland, Bill Kopyar, Virginia Orrison, Joyce Orzolek, Bill Richards, Alice Shunk, Leon & June Smith, Vonda Swisher,  Marlene Trisolene, Joanne Wallner and Bill White.

We are thankful that both Nathan Rodak (Jay & Rhonda’s son) and  Joey Stenger (Joe & Karen’s son) are back safely in the States.  It was so good to have Joey worship with us last Sunday evening.

OUR EXPECTANT MOTHERS

Carrie Lucas is scheduled to deliver their new daughter tomorrow in Wheeling Hospital.  We need to continue our prayers for Amy Higgins (a boy in May) and Lindsay McKeen (a girl in July).

BABY SHOWER

There will be a Baby Shower for Lyndsay McKeen in conjunction with the Monthly Fellowship on May 6.  Everyone is invited.

LADIES’ RETREAT

Ladies, don’t forget to sign the list today if you are planning to attend the Ladies’ Retreat at Grand Vue Park April 20 & 21.  All the Jr. & Sr. Hi girls are invited to attend for the first time this year.  The sign-up list is on the bulletin board in the foyer.

SHEPHERDS-DEACONS-PREACHERS MEETING

The next bi-monthly meeting for our shepherds, deacons and preachers will be Sunday, April 22, at 4:30 p.m.

CONGREGATIONAL MEETING

There will be a Congregational Meeting following the evening service on April 22.

MINISTRY OF ENCOURAGEMENT

Teams 2,3&5 will lead our Ministry of Encouragement for the next two weeks.

TEACHERS’ APPRECIATION DINNER

The Teachers’ Appreciation Dinner originally scheduled for March has been re-scheduled for Thursday, April 19, at 6:00 p.m., at Mehlman’s.  If you are planning to attend, please sign the new list on the bulletin board even though you may have signed the previous one.

ITEMS FOR POTTER CHILDREN’S HOME

If you would like to help the children who reside at the Potter Children’s Home in Bowling Green, KY, please bring some of the following items by May 12: French Dressing, Bottled Water and Soft-Scrub.  They also need cash donations to help with the purchase of perishable foods.

JUNIOR YOUTH RALLY

The Grand Central church in Vienna, WV, will be hosting the annual Jr. Youth Rally for Grades 3-6, on Saturday, April 21.

LADIES’ INSPIRATION DAY

The Wheeling congregation will be hosting their annual Ladies’ Inspiration Day on Saturday, May 12.

ELMER PARSONS RETREAT

The annual Elmer Parsons Retreat for youth at Tomlinson Run State Park will be May 18-20.  (Contact Brad Schrum for more details.)

WALK-A-THON

If you would like to participate in a “Walk-A-Thon” to help raise additional funds for the Games Family in Moundsville on Saturday, May 12, informational packets are available on the table in the foyer.

IN SEARCH OF THE LORD’S WAY

What is the resurrection and when will we be raised?  How will the resurrection affect me personally?  What kind of body will we have in the resurrection?  In next week’s lesson, “The Resurrection,” these and other related questions will be explored by Phil Sanders, the program’s keynote speaker.   The weekly program can be seen every Sunday at 7:30 a.m. on WTRF-TV, ch. 7.
