 PRAYER REQUESTS

   Charlotte Patton is at home slowly recovering from last Wednesday’s rotator cuff surgery.  John Burghy had successful cataract surgery last Wednesday.  Ryland Higgins is doing better after being hospitalized with  a high fever last weekend.  Ethel Kent completed her radiation treatments last Monday.  She is now under Hospice Care.  P.J. Blake, Freda Blake’s daughter-in-law, had a biopsy last Monday to help determine if she has leukemia.  Clyde Carpenter’s tests last Monday revealed that his body is absorbing the fluid which has been on his lungs.

The following for whom our prayers have been requested recently continue to need our prayers: Larry Barbe (Angel Baker’s father), Randy Bernard (friend of Jimmy Thrash), Delores Burkhart, Ken Frye, Faith Hilton (Bunky Loy’s granddaughter), Daphne Huffman (Paul’s mother), Kevin Kalany, Judy Kinemond (Mary Donna Wodarcyk’s daughter-in-law, cancer), Danny McMillan, Charlotte Mason (Mae Deller’s daughter), Wayne Patton, Peg Spielvogel, Frank Sponhaltz, Jennifer Wheeler (Amy Nestor’s mother) and Marlin Workman (Jenna Conway’s father).

Our shut-ins are in continual need of our prayers and encouragement…Evelyn Barker, Ella Bell, Bill & Sue Daley, Mae Deller, Wilda Freeland  Bill Kopyar, Joyce Orzolek, Pearl Roy, Alice Shunk, Leon & June Smith, Jim  Thrash, Marlene Trisolene and Joanne Wallner.

Those from our church family and extended church family who are serving in the armed forces need our continued prayers…  Jason Harris (Bill & Pat Rice’s son-in-law), Chad Huggins (in South Korea), Bill Randolph (Matt’s father), Nathan Rodak (Jay & Rhonda’s son, in Afghanistan) and Joey Stenger (Joe & Karen’s son).

SYMPATHY 

We extend our deepest sympathy to Brad Schrum and his family in the death of Harry Schrum, his grandfather and our brother in Christ.  Harry passed from this life last Sunday night and his funeral was Thursday.  We will miss him, but we’re thankful his struggles are over.   (His sons & their wives: Bob & Lynn Schrum; St.C.; Dan & Debbie Schrum; Granville, OH ).

Our genuine sympathy is extended to Charles Hope in the death of his aunt, Geraldine Hollowell in Philadelphia, PA, on April 25. Geraldine’s sister, Mary “Ginger” Hope, who is Charles’ mother also lives in  Philadelphia, PA.

NEW BROTHER IN CHRIST

    We rejoiced last Sunday as we watched Sherwood Blake being baptized into Christ.  He lives in Moundsville, WV.   He will be in Care Group A.  We welcome Sherwood to the church family.

MINISTRY OF ENCOURAGEMENT

Teams 2,3&5 will lead our Ministry of Encouragement for the next two weeks.

2013 HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES

We are aware of the following from our church family who are graduating from high school this Spring: Bridgeport:  Emily Nowakowski; Home School: Rebekah Dukes and Michaela Hinkle; Marysville: Kristin Bass; St. Clairsville: Paige Hashman and Kyle Lachendro; Union Local: Alicia Estadt, Riley McDiffitt, Sarah Shepherd and Chelsea Turner and from Wheeling Park: Gunner Usenick.  Please notify Joyce Slatt, if anyone has been omitted.

We congratulate Juliana Sowinski who graduated Summa Cum Laude this Spring from the Ohio State University with a degree in Psychology and minors in Disability Studies and Studio Art.

Please notify Joyce of anyone from our church family who is graduating from College or a Technical School this Spring.  Please write their names on a card along with the school’s name and the student’s degree.

PICTORIAL DIRECTORY                    

We appreciate the excellent co-operation we are receiving in updating our Pictorial Directory.  If you haven’t signed up yet, please sign the list on the bulletin board and have your family’s picture taken so the new directory will be a more effective tool in helping us as well as future new members in becoming better acquainted with each other.  We want to include everyone who worships with us regularly—even if you are not a member.  If you have any questions, please contact Brad Schrum, Joyce Slatt or Kay Sowinski who are taking the photographs.

TEACHER SIGN-UP SCHEDULE

We need teachers for the coming year’s classes. If you would like to help teach the Word of God to our children, please sign the list on the hallway bulletin board across from Brad’s office.

WEDNESDAY ADULT SUMMER SERIES

Men, if you are able and willing to lead one of the classes during this summer’s Wednesday Adult Series, please contact Brian Games for dates and topics.

EVERETT AT CIRCLEVILLE

The Hutsons are at Circleville this weekend where Everett is speaking during their Family Weekend. They’re planning to return to St.C. later today.

MONTHLY FELLOWSHIP

We want to invite everyone to return for this evening’s worship service and remain afterwards for the fellowship in the MP Room during which we will honor those with Birthdays or Wedding Anniversaries in May.  Care Group B is in charge of the arrangements.

BORROWING TABLES OR CHAIRS

There is a sign-out list on the bulletin board in the secretary’s office for you to use when borrowing tables or chairs.  Please sign the list ahead of time so we can make sure they will be available when you need them.  Be sure to record when you return them on the sign-up list as well.

DEADLINE FOR ITEMS FOR POTTER CHILDREN’S HOME

Next Sunday evening is the deadline for bringing the items which we have been asked to donate to help provide care for the children who reside at Potter Children’s Home in Bowling Green, KY.  Please bring any of the following items and place them on the table across from Everett’s office: 13 gallon kitchen trash bags; water; Spray & Shout Stain Remover; canned whole tomatoes and canned refried beans. If you would like to donate cash for fresh foods, please give the money to Everett by next Sunday evening.
