PRAYER CONCERNS

Bill Rodak continues his treatment for an ulcerated eye.  Leonard Bearup is continuing to experience back pain.  Stacie Bearup is also on medical leave.  Dot Saunders has requested our prayers for herself and her family as they deal with her mother’s rapidly declining health.  Amber Hope’s trip to the emergency room last Sunday revealed that the pain in her leg was due to a pulled back muscle.

Matt Schrum, Brad’s brother, was taken to the emergency room last Wednesday with something lodged in his throat.  Sam Burkhart, a longtime member of the Jacobsburg congregation who occasionally worships with us, has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer.

Charlotte Mason, Mae Deller’s daughter, is battling the return of breast cancer.   Deloris Fatula, the sister of Ed Hirauk who has been worshiping with us for quite some time, was hospitalized in EORH last week with a blocked bowel.   Erma Troyer, the Sowinskis’ neighbor, is undergoing physical therapy in Forest Hills.  The MRI which Tammy Baker, Mary Donna Wordarcyk’s friend, recently underwent revealed the brain tumor is benign and shrinking.

Please continue praying for Louis Bain (Kate’s husband), Evelyn Barker, Holly Bine (Pat Rice’s brother, cancer), Charles Boger,  Clyde Carpenter, Mark Fehr (friend of Carol Kovachic), Jason Gibson (friend of Ruth Morrow, Dee Lallathin’s daughter, wounded in Afghanistan), Susan Foy (Ethel Kent’s daughter, cancer), Brian Games, Bertha Kettlewell, Jodi Lewis (Kay Sowinski’s cousin), Kevin Kalany, Allison Martin (step great-granddaughter of Erma Troyer, Kay Sowinki’s neighbor, leukemia), Vera Perry, Pat Rice, Bill Richards and Peg Spielvogel.

CAMP CONCERN PRE-REGISTRATION

Some of our youth will be leaving for a week at Camp Concern next Sunday.  It is too late for those who are ages 13-18 to avoid the $10.00 late registration fee. However, those who are wanting to attend Intermediate (11-12) and Junior (8-10) Weeks, can avoid the fee by sending their registrations by July 9.  (Brochures are available on the table in the foyer.)

Some of our youth are already beginning to attend camp.  Parents, if your child wins any awards at any church camp, please write their name, camp name and award on a card and give it to Joyce.

GRADUATION PARTY

The family of Ashley Gaston invites the church family to her Graduation Party on Saturday, July 14 (1-4 p.m.) at their house.

IN SEARCH OF THE LORD’S WAY

The morality of the nation in these times is well defined in a statement by Paul Begala, a White House staffer a decade or so ago. He said, “Define and create the reality you want.”  We very badly need a standard of right and wrong. Where can we find it? Phil Sanders will examine that question in next week’s lesson, “Give Us A Standard” in the weekly program which can be viewed locally on  Sundays at 7:30 a.m. on WTRF-TV, Ch. 7.
