SHEPHERDS-DEACONS-PREACHERS MEETING

Today at 4:30, all the shepherds, deacons and preachers will meet in the MP Room to pray for and to discuss the Lord’s work being done by our church family.

FALL CLASSES

Our new fall classes will begin Sunday, Sept. 4.  It will also be “Promotion Sunday” which will be the day all those who are supposed to move up to another class will do so. The fall classes for Wednesday evening will begin Sept. 7.

WEDNESDAY ADULT SERIES

In this coming Wednesday’s Summer Adult Series, Mike Vilano will lead the class in a discussion of the topic “Go Boldly…Regardless”  using Acts 28:26 as the basis of the study.

TEEN DEVO

All of the teens are invited to the Gooches’ this coming Thursday for the final scheduled Devo of the summer (7-9 p.m.).

BACK TO COLLEGE

The summer has gone by so quickly and we are already beginning to see several of our youth leaving for college and technical schools.  So we can stay in touch with them this year, please give their name and college address to Joyce Slatt and we will publish them in a near-future bulletin.

NEXT WEEK’S SPEAKER

Everett & Judy are going to be out of town next weekend and, in his absence, Brad will present both the morning and evening lessons.

GLEANER CANS

Again this year we have the opportunity to assist with the support of the children who live at Potter Children’s Home in Bowling Green, KY, by collecting our loose change in Gleaner Cans.  If you would like to help, you can take a can from the table in the foyer and begin saving your coins today. The cans are due back by Nov. 13.

BELMONT COUNTY FAIR SERVICE

We have been invited again to lead the worship service at the Belmont County Fair on Sunday, Sept. 11.  Brad and several others have accepted the invitation and will be there that Sunday morning.

IN SEARCH OF THE LORD’S WAY

Even the best of parents face times when children disappoint them. How parents react to the troubles their children cause can affect a child’s destiny. How does a faithful parent deal with an unfaithful child? In next week’s lesson, “When Children Fall,” Phil Sanders will help answer that question.  The program can be seen locally every Sunday at 7:30 a.m. on WTRF-TV, ch. 7.
