PRAYER REQUESTS

Jimmy Thrash was to consult with his doctor last Thursday regarding the possibility of receiving a cochlea implant in his right ear.  Charlotte Mason, Mae Deller’s daughter, is undergoing outpatient chemotherapy for terminal breast cancer.  Jennifer Jeffries, the Kopyars’ daughter, is undergoing treatment in Wheeling Hospital for a burst colon. She will have surgery once the infection clears.

    Paul Moore, Brenda Sponhaltz’s brother-in-law, had to return to OSU Hospital last week for cellulitis in his legs. Randy Gates, Judy Hutson’s brother, is recovering from surgery during which pins were inserted in 3 broken bones in his leg.  Joe Bine, Pat Rice’s brother, is recovering from hip surgery. Nancy Hendershot, the wife of Kay Sowinski’s cousin, remains in critical condition in OSU James Cancer Center with a malignant brain tumor. Rick Kasper, a friend of several of our members and a member of the Wheeling church, was to undergo open heart surgery late last week in Wheeling Hospital. Bruce Butler, the husband of one of Janet Lallathin’s co-workers, is undergoing chemotherapy for pancreatic cancer.

Please continue your prayers for Evelyn Barker,  Roger Bennington (father-in-law of Trina Bennington, the Slatts’ daughter), Charles Boger, Brian Games, Ben Hendershot (Kay’s cousin), Judy Kinemond  (Mary Donna Wodarcyk’s daughter-in-law, cancer),  Nancy Miller, Peg Spielvogel, Pam Thrash and Sue Wirsing.

Let’s keep our Shut-ins in our prayers…Bill & Sue Daley, Mae Deller, Wilda Freeland, Bill Kopyar, Virginia Orrison, Joyce Orzolek, Harry Schrum, Alice Shunk (Leonard Bearup’s mother), Leon & June Smith, Vonda Swisher, Jim Thrash, Marlene Trisolene,  Joanne Wallner and Bill White. Pam Thrash is back home after being hospitalized and in a nursing home for a few weeks.

Our prayers continue for Leslie & Jamie Judge who are expecting a new addition in December.

Let’s continue keep our Military Personnel in our thoughts and prayers….Jason Harris (Bill & Pat Rice’s son-in-law), Bill Randolph (Matt’s father, in Afghanistan), Nathan Rodak (Jay & Rhonda’s son) and  Joey Stenger (Joe & Karen’s son).

SYMPATHY

Our deepest sympathy is extended to Pat Rice in the Aug. 17th death of her brother, Holly Bine, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

PUBLIC REQUEST FOR PRAYERS

Last Sunday morning, Michael Games publicly responded to the invitation requesting our prayers that he will not hurt anyone with his words or actions as he has done in the recent past. Our prayers are with him as he continues his spiritual journey.

NEW CHRISTIANS

We rejoice with Bob Kuntzman and Jenna Thompson who were baptized into Christ on Thursday, Aug. 16. They reside with their daughter, Lila.  They will be in Care Group C. We welcome them to the church family.

THIS  EVENING’S WORSHIP SERVICE

This evening at 6:00,  we will meet at our new property on  Reservoir Road for our evening worship service.  Communion will be available for those who are unable to commune this morning.  Be sure to come and bring your lawn chairs.  Dress casually.

WEDNESDAY SUMMER ADULT SERIES

This coming Wednesday evening will bring what has been an excellent study this summer to a close as Everett Hutson concludes the study with “An Overview of The Portraits of Christ in John.”  The study of 1 Corinthians will resume on Sept. 5.

MONTHLY FELLOWSHIP

Due to the Labor Day Weekend being next weekend, the Monthly Fellowship will be postponed until Sunday evening, Sept. 8.

GRADUATE

We congratulate Ryan Hatcher on his graduation from Wyotech in Blairsville, PA, on Aug. 17 with a degree in Automotive Technologies and High Performance.

RETURNING TO COLLEGE

It’s that time of year when we have to say, “So long” to our college students for a few months.  So we can stay in touch with them throughout the school year, please give their college addresses to Joyce Slatt so they can be published in a future bulletin.  We would like to have the names of those who will be commuting from home as well.

MINISTRY OF ENCOURAGEMENT

Teams 3 & 5 will lead our Ministry of Encouragement for the next two weeks.

MEN’S BREAKFAST

All the men and boys are invited to the monthly breakfast at Eat ‘N Park this Saturday at 8:30.

HOMECOMING

Let’s start praying for our Homecoming which is coming up Sunday, Oct. 7.  Brad Poe, our very first youth minister will be our guest speaker. If you would like for the church to send someone a letter inviting them, give their name and complete address to Joyce Slatt.

BLOOD DRIVE FOR LOCAL LEUKEMIA PATIENT

There will a Replenishment Blood Drive this coming Tuesday, Aug. 28 (8 a.m.—6 p.m.), at the St.C. Hi School Gym for Allie Hamilton, a sophomore at St.C. Hi School, who  is battling leukemia. GLEANER CANS

If you would like to assist with the support of the children who live at the Potter Children’s Home in Bowling Green, KY, please take one of the Coin Cans from the table across from Everett’s office and save your coins (and paper money) in them for the next 3 months.  The deadline for returning the cans is Oct. 28.
