 PRAYER CONCERNS

Kevin Kalany continues to improve.  Curtis Blake continues to battle the advanced stages of cancer in Liza’s Place. Tom Russell, Greg Nestor’s grandfather, remains in EORH as he recovers from a recent stroke.  Marcelyn Jones was admitted to  Medical Park this past week.   Elmer LaRue, one of our former shepherds, remains in serious condition in a Georgia hospital. Janet Lallathin has requested our prayers for Callan Caldwell, a newborn baby who had to be transported to a Pittsburgh hospital for a possible blood transfusion.

Those for whom our prayers have been requested recently continue to need our support ….Louis Bain (Kate’s husband), is scheduled for surgery (cancer)  Sept. 2nd . SERVING IN THE MILITARY

Those who are away from their families serving in the military need our prayerful support… Nathan Rodak (Bill & Joan’s grandson), Kristen Roy (Pearl Roy’s granddaughter), Joe Stenger and Dylan Usenick.  Marc Roy, Pearl Roy’s grandson, returned home on Aug. 13 and his sister, Kristen, is to return home in December or January.

 PROMOTION SUNDAY & BEGINNING OF FALL CLASSES

Next Sunday morning marks the beginning of our Fall Classes as well as serving as Promotion Sunday.  Any student who is to move to a new class will go to their new classroom at the start of the 9:00 a.m. Bible Classes.  The new mid-week classes will begin the following Wednesday, Sept. 7.

BAPTISM

We rejoiced last Sunday as we witnessed Charles Lough being baptized into Christ.  Several years ago he was baptized, but recent reflection caused him to decide to be baptized again.  We welcome Charles into the family and pray that he will continue to grow in his walk with God.

PUBLIC RESPONSE

Last Wednesday evening, Riley McDiffitt responded to the invitation requesting  our prayers to help her refocus her life.

WEDNESDAY ADULT SERIES

We only have two weeks left of what has been an exciting and encouraging summer study focusing on the theme “Go…Where?  Do What?”  As the classes draw to their end, Mark Farber will lead this coming Wednesday’s study, “Go…Without Distinction” using Acts 11:12 as his basic text.  The following Wednesday, Sept. 7, Brian Games will bring the series to a close with the lesson, “Go Into All Nations, Diversity of  Ministry.”

MEN’S BREAKFAST

All the men and boys are invited to the monthly breakfast at 8:30 a.m. this coming Saturday at Eat ‘N Park.

MONTHLY FELLOWSHIP

Due to Labor Day Weekend being next week, the September Fellowship won’t be held until the following Sunday evening, Sept. 11.  We will be honoring those with Birthdays and Wedding Anniversaries in August and September.  Care Group B will be in charge of the arrangements.

BACK TO COLLEGE

We are rapidly seeing our college students leave us for another year of study.  To help us stay in contact with them through the school year, please  give their name and college address to Joyce Slatt and we will publish them in a near-future bulletin.

TODAY’S SERMONS

Everett has been on vacation the past week and he and Judy are out of town this weekend.  We are privileged to have Brad Schrum present both this morning’s and this evening’s lessons.  Everett plans to return to the office tomorrow morning.

GLEANER CANS

If you would like to assist the children who live at Potter Children’s Home in Bowling Green, KY, please take one of the Coin Cans from the table in the foyer and begin saving your loose change.  You will have until Nov. 13 to fill them as full as you can.

BELMONT COUNTY FAIR SERVICE

Brad and several others will conduct the worship service at the Belmont County Fair again this year.  The service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Sept. 11 on the new Fairgrounds West of town.

FOREST HILLS NURSING HOME

We are scheduled to lead the worship service at Forest Hills on Sept. 11 at 2:30.

NORTH HILLS YOUTH RALLLY

The annual Youth Rally sponsored by the North Hills congregation in Pittsburgh will be Sept. 23 & 24.  (More details later.)

IN SEARCH OF THE LORD’S WAY

“In Search of the Lord’s Way” began broadcasting on September 1, 1980.  Next Sunday will mark the beginning of its 32nd year of preaching Jesus Christ.  There is no greater need in America than to learn the ways of the Lord Jesus Christ.  In next week’s Anniversary Program,” Phil Sanders will continue trying to get that message out to the TV audience.  The program can be seen locally every Sunday on WTRF-TV, Ch. 7, at 7:30 a.m.
