PRAYER REQUESTS

  Virginia Orrison was to receive a new pacemaker this past Friday.  Janet Lallathin is recovering from last Wednesday’s arthroscopic surgery on her knee. John Palimetakis, Elearnor’s husband, was to have a stent inserted in his heart artery last Thursday.  Nancy Miller had her cast removed last Tuesday and is doing well. Steve Lattocha is to undergo surgery on a vertebrae in his back on Sept. 12 to help strengthen his arms and hands.

   Ethel Kent has been diagnosed as having cancer in the lower part of one of her lungs.  Ryan Leeka, the 15-year old stepson of Amanda Schrum’s cousin, underwent surgery on Aug. 24 & 25 for abscesses on his brain for which he will have to have additional surgeries.   Roxanne Wilson, a friend of Rob & Nancy Miller and a daughter-in-law of one of the shepherds at E. Main in Barnesville, had some tests to monitor her unborn baby’s progress and they showed some irregularities.  Terry Loy, the brother of Janet Eide & Nancy Hudson, is experiencing problems with the veins in his leg as well as a hernia.

    Paul Moore, Brenda Sponhaltz’s brother-in-law, remains in the OSU James Cancer center where he is being treated for cancer.  Nancy Hendershot, the wife of Kay Sowinski’s cousin, was possibly going to be released from the OSU James Cancer Center late last week. Judy Barrick, friend of Janet Lallathin, is recovering from last Monday’s open heart surgery.

    Sue Beisel was to return last Thursday to Equatorial Guniea for 4 more weeks of teaching.

Let’s continue our prayers for those for whom our prayers have been requested recently…Joe Bine (Pat Rice’s brother), Charles Boger, Bruce Butler, (husband of one of Janet Lallathin’s  co-workers, cancer), Brian Games, Randy Gates (Judy Hutson’s brother), Jennifer Jeffries (Kopyars’ daughter), Rick Kasper (member of the Wheeling church, heart surgery), Judy Kinemond  (Mary Donna Wodarcyk’s daughter-in-law, cancer), Charlotte Mason (Mae Deller’s daughter, cancer), Peg Spielvogel, Pam Thrash and Sue Wirsing.

Those confined to their homes or nursing homes need our continued prayers and encouragement…Evelyn Barker, Bill & Sue Daley, Mae Deller, Wilda Freeland, Bill Kopyar, Joyce Orzolek, Harry Schrum, Alice Shunk (Leonard Bearup’s mother), Leon & June Smith, Vonda Swisher, Jim Thrash, Marlene Trisolene,, Joanne Wallner and Bill White.

Please continue your prayers for Leslie & Jamie Judge as they anticipate their new addition in December.

Our prayers continue to be needed for our military personnel….Jason Harris (Bill & Pat Rice’s son-in-law), Bill Randolph (Matt’s father, in Afghanistan), Nathan Rodak (Jay & Rhonda’s son) and  Joey Stenger (Joe & Karen’s son).

 CONGRATULATIONS

We want to congratulate Bill  & Arlene Kopyar on the birth of another great grandson, Caden Allen, who was born to Brian & Jennifer Alloway on Aug. 23.  He weighed 7.5 lbs. and measured 19 inches long.

BAPTIZED INTO CHRIST

    We rejoice with Morgan Freeman who was baptized into Christ last Tuesday evening.  Morgan and her daughter, Kailee, reside in  St.C.   She will be in Care Group B.  We welcome Morgan to the church family.

PROMOTION SUNDAY

All the students who are to change classes due to a Grade change will do so at the beginning of Bible Class this morning.  The new Wednesday classes will begin this coming Wednesday.  All the literature is available on the table outside Brad’s office.

WEDNESDAY ADULT CLASS

After a great summer series of looking at “The Portraits of Christ in John,” we will resume last Spring’s study of 1 Corinthians with 1 Cor. 15:12.  We want to thank all the men who prepared and presented such challenging and encouraging lessons during the summer.

MONTHLY FELLOWSHIP

Following next Sunday evening’s worship service, we will honor those with Birthdays or Wedding Anniversaries in August and September during our Monthly Fellowship.  Care Group B will be in charge of the arrangements.

FOREST HILLS

We are scheduled to lead the worship service for the residents at Forest Hills next Sunday at 2:30 p.m.

QUILTING MISSION

Next Sunday at 4:00, there will be a meeting in the MP Room for everyone who is interested in making quilts for Eastern European Missions (EEM).  Contact Mary Taylor for more details.

HOMECOMING

We are only a little over a month away from our Homecoming—Oct. 7.  Brad Poe, the present preaching minister for the Rome, Ohio, church and one of our former youth ministers, will be our keynote speaker.   If you would like for the church to send someone a letter inviting them, give their name and complete address to Joyce Slatt.

RETURNING TO COLLEGE

Most of our students have already left for college.  To help us stay in touch with them, please give their college addresses to Joyce Slatt. We also would like to have the names of those who will be commuting from home.

GLEANER CANS 

There are still several cans remaining on the table across from Everett’s office for you to take and save your change and paper money for the children at the Potter Children’s Home. The deadline for returning the cans is Oct. 28.

IN SEARCH OF THE LORD’S WAY
