PRAYER REQUESTS

   Esther Koerber,  Cindy Goff’s mother, is in Cleveland Clinic being treated for an aneurysm near her heart.  Hunter Bearup is recovering from last Wednesday’s surgery to remove additional cysts from one of his ears.  Steve Lattocha continues to experience some pain as he recovers from his recent surgery on his vertebrae.  Sue Wirsing continues to regain her strength. She is still staying with her daughter in Nashville, TN.   Pam Thrash continues to experience severe pain in her legs due to cellulitis. Ethel Kent’s tests revealed that she does have cancer near her lungs.  Further tests are being conducted to determine the type of cancer she has.  Tristan Price, Becky Groves’ grandson, is recovering from a broken vertebrae which he experienced during a football game last week.

Please continue your prayers for those for whom our prayers have been requested recently…Mary Lee Applegarth (friend of Rose Voscavitch), Sue Beisel,  Charles Boger,  Brian Games, Nelson Gaston (Mike’s father), Clara Helms, Nancy Hendershot (wife of Kay Sowinski’s cousin), Jennifer Jeffries, (the Kopyars’ daughter, up coming surgery),  Judy Kinemond  (Mary Donna Wodarcyk’s daughter-in-law, cancer), Janet Lallathin, Charlotte Mason (Mae Deller’s daughter, cancer), Paul Moore, Brenda Sponhaltz’s brother-in-law, cancer), Peg Spielvogel, Bill White (Tina Hayes’ brother-in-law) and Sue Wirsing.

Let’s continue praying for a healthy delivery of Leslie & Jamie Judge’s addition who is expected in December.

SYMPATHY

We extend our deepest sympathy to Ken Frye in last Monday’s death of his brother-in-law, Marty Zontini.

BAPTIZED INTO CHRIST

We rejoice with the addition of two brothers to the body of Christ.  Following last Sunday morning’s worship service, Luke McDiffitt was baptized into Christ by his father and last Monday evening, Joe Schmidli committed his life to Christ in being baptized into Christ.  Luke is the son of Scott and Sally McDiffitt and Joe is Paula’s husband.  We welcome Luke & Joe to the church family and pray that they both will have  long and productive lives in serving the Lord.

NEWLYWEDS

We congratulate Aaron Baker and Morgan Freeman who were united in marriage yesterday in Wheeling.  They will be residing at 110 Broad St.; St.C.  We are collecting money for a “Money-Tree” which will be presented to them during the Monthly Fellowship on Oct. 14.  If you would like to add to the “Tree,” please give your money to Gail Bigler, Amy Games or Pam Moore by Wednesday, Oct. 10.

CONGREGATIONAL MEETING

Everyone is encouraged to attend the Quarterly Congregational Meeting following an abbreviated worship service this evening.

FIFTH SUNDAY CONTRIBUTION

As you plan your giving for next Sunday, remember it is a “Fifth Sunday.”  All of the day’s contribution will go toward our facility expansion program.

HOMECOMING ASSIGNMENTS

We are anticipating a great day of worship and fellowship on October 7 as we welcome friends from the community and our friends who have moved away over the years back home for Homecoming.  To help make the day run more smoothly, be sure to check the assignment sheet for your Care Group and volunteer your services.  The Assignment lists are available on the table in the foyer and posted on the bulletin board.

SONG LEADERS’ CLASS

To enhance our praising our Lord in song, Jerry Moore will be teaching a Song Leading Class beginning Oct. 10.  If you are presently a song leader  who would like to improve your ability in leading or if you would like to learn how to lead, please sign the list on the bulletin board. NORTH HILLS YOUTH RALLY

Several of our youth and their chaperones will be participating in the North Hills Youth Rally this coming Friday evening and all day Saturday.  Contact Brad Schrum for more details.

COLLEGE ADDRESSES

To make sure your student’s college or technical school address is included on this year’s list, please give their names and addresses to Joyce Slatt by this coming Wednesday, Sept. 26.  Remember we want to include the names and addresses of those commuting from home as well.

MINISTRY OF ENCOURAGEMENT

Teams 1 & 2 will lead our Ministry of Encouragement for the next two weeks.

GLEANER CANS

We have a little over one month to fill the cans to help support the children who live at Potter Children’s Home in Bowling Green, KY.  The deadline for returning the cans is Nov. 4.

IN SEARCH OF THE LORD’S WAY

As Phil Sanders concludes this month’s series on God’s plan for redeeming mankind from sin, he will present the lesson “Baptism” in next week’s broadcast.
