HOMECOMING

We want to welcome everyone to Homecoming 2012.  We have been praying, and planning for this day for quite some time as we have been anticipating welcoming many of our “old” friends back “home” and meeting “new” friends as well.  The StC Homecomings have always been very special and encouraging for those who have had the privilege of being a part of them.  We are glad you, our guests, are able to be here today as we worship our Father and as we encourage each other.

Brad Poe, the preaching minister for the Rome church of Christ in Proctorville, Ohio, is today’s keynote speaker.  Brad has served in the same capacity with the churches of Christ in Orlando, Florida, and Dayton, Ohio since serving as our very first youth minister from 1987 to 1989.  He is a 1989 graduate of Ohio Valley University with a B.A. in Bible as well as a 2009 graduate of Cincinnati Bible Seminary with a M.A.R. in Biblical Studies.  He is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Counseling at Marshall University in Huntington, WV.  Brad and his wife Becky have two daughters, Sydney and Lauren, both of whom are students at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee.

Brad will be teaching the combined Grade 7-Adult Class in the auditorium beginning at 9:00 a.m. During that time, he will present the lesson “A Homecoming Story” using Luke 15 as the basis of the study. His presentation during the 10:00 a.m. worship service will be “The Father’s House” (Text: Jn. 14:1-9) and his lesson for the closing 1:30 p.m. worship service will be “Being Blessed By Being There” (Text: Jn. 19:23-27).  All of his lessons are designed to help us appreciate what we have now by staying “home” with the Lord and what we are anticipating in the future “Homecoming.”

We want to invite all of our guests to join us for lunch in the Multipurpose Room at 11:45.  All the food has been provided by the StC church family.  The meals always provide additional opportunities to spend time with each other.  We hope you will stay and enjoy the fellowship.

At 1:30, we will re-assemble in the auditorium for our closing devotional. We are planning to dismiss around 2:30 so all of you who are visiting from other congregations will have time to return home in time for your evening services.  The Lord’s Supper will be available here this evening at 6:00 for everyone who was not able to worship with us this morning.

We want to thank all of you for being here today.  We hope it will be a great day for the Lord and an encouraging one for everyone present.

Everett
